Congratulations to Peter Hewgill and the Cleveland Barons, winners of the Season 33 Challenge Tournament. This is Cleveland's fourth time winning our season-opening event and the second Inauguration Cup for Pete.
Due to my misspeaking after the close of the Entry Draft, the Valid Roster Deadline and Waiver Draft have been moved to Thursday, March 11.
I'd originally said that they would be on March 10. Then, after the Entry Draft, I said they would be on Thursday. March 10th isn't Thursday, so... Oops. We're going with the later date just in case anyone was planning on it.
The S33 Entry Draft is complete and all eligible selected players have been added to their team rosters.
Thursday at noon is the deadline for all teams to get under the applicable roster limits. Assuming there are no hiccups with that, the Waiver Draft will be Thursday night as 6:00 PM.
Alright, after much delay and significant code updates, re-rates have been completed.
There is a known flaw in the re-rate system based on the fact that we use player data from TSN.ca and, for some reason, some active players don't have profiles there. As such, some players who were removed from their teams' rosters via roster cleaning shouldn't have been. They're usually the ones with "Status Not Found" as the reason for their removal. I'll be going through those manually and re-confirming them. That said, there was a bunch of new code for these re-rates so something could easily have gone wrong; let me know if there's something that needs fixing.
With the S32 award winners announced, we're officially on to Season 33. Up next is re-rates.
I'm going to tap the breaks a little bit here, though, because there were issues with the recent NSHL re-rates and I think I have an idea of how to do them better. If I can't figure something out in the next week or so, we'll probably get moving again.
On the twentieth anniversary of the league's first games, the Kansas City Scouts have claimed their first Memorial Trophy Championship. Congrats to Dave on the Scouts' sweep, congrats to Mark on a great run by his Maple Leafs, and thanks to everyone on yet another successful season.
Voting for All-Star rosters is now open via the GM Tools. It will remain open until noon on the day of the All-Star Game, which is currently scheduled for Sunday (December 13).
As per usual, this is a required vote. If there are any questions, feel free to ask.
As of the Valid Roster/Roster Limit Deadline at noon today, two teams were above the roster limits.
Hartford was at 62 total players but was at or under all other limits. The rules state that the last two players on their property list would have been released to make their Reserve List compliant. That would have been Philip Varone and Ozzy Wiesblatt. However, the Whalers placed two players on waivers at 12:18, getting them under the limit after the deadline but before I had a chance to confirm.
The DFHL Season 32 Entry Draft is complete and all eligible players who were selected should now be on their respective teams' roster. If anything doesn't look right, let me know.
Up next is the Valid Roster Deadline at noon on August 30. Just a reminder, this does not have to be your final roster and you do not have to have valid lines. With everyone under the roster limits by that point, the Waiver Draft will be at 7:00 PM On August 31.
I realize there hasn't been a whole lot of time for objections so, if it turns out that these dates don't work, I'll happily reschedule, but for now I'm going to run with the draft schedule I proposed on Thursday.
