Just because there are no games today doesn't mean we don't have stuff going on. I'm happy to welcome Ryan Archer as the new GM of the DFHL Pittsburgh Pirates.
Ryan comes with recommendations from Aaron (Rockies) and Brian (Rangers) so he's got some people who can help him hit the ground running.
That's a wrap on the S40 Challenge Tournament. We'll take Monday off, as per usual, and start the regular season on Tuesday.
One thing I lost track of is that, with the new season being S40, it's a DFHL Hall of Fame induction year. I'll open up voting for that after we get our new Pittsburgh GM in place.
The S40 Entry Draft is complete and all eligible players who were selected should be on their respective team rosters. Additionally, the players who were accidentally added back to their team rosters from the Property List should be removed. If anything doesn't look right, let me know.
I'm pleased to formally announce that @greasy sneakers is the new GM of the DFHL Boston Bruins and @Ian Ramsay has taken over the DFHL Pittsburgh Pirates.
Alright, I mentioned this in-channel but just making it official...
Re-rates for Season 40 are complete. The process behind that acted up a little so, this season, I do not have a list of players who were determined to be ineligible (and why). That process ran successfully, it just didn't spit back out that list, which I usually give an additional manual check to. As such, make sure to take a second to look over your roster and property list for anything that doesn't look right.
With the Season 39 Award Winners announced, we've formally moved on to Season 40.
Since I've explicitly been asked about it, yes, this means that waivers are back open. Additionally, I'll be processing re-rates sometime relatively soon.
That's a wrap on Season 39. Congratulations to Guido and the Quebec Nordiques, our Memorial Trophy Champions! This is the first championship for the Nords after making the finals last year.
That's a wrap on the S39 regular season. Per tradition, we'll take tomorrow (Friday) off. But, per my busy schedule, we've also got to take Saturday off. The playoffs will begin on Sunday with the Bruins hosting the Rangers, the Black Hawks hosting the Tigers, the North Stars hosting the Senators, and the Flames hosting the Barons.
Alright, those are our last games until Monday, when we'll be back with the All-Star Game.
Reminder, ASG votes are due via the GM Tools by noon on Monday. We've got a couple GMs who haven't completed their ballots yet.
As mentioned in today's schedule notes, voting for the S39 All-Star Game rosters is now open via the GM Tools.
Please remember, voting is a required action.
The deadline for voting is officially noon on the day the ASG is set to be played. Because of my slightly-intense schedule over the next couple weeks, there are going to be some gaps in simming, which will push the ASG out later than it looks. I expect that Day 83 will be simmed on Friday, 9/27. We're off on Saturday and Sunday, then back with Day 84 on Monday. This would put Day 88 - the All-Star Game, on Friday, 10/4. Except there will be no sim that weekend, either.
