I'd like to formally welcome David Biskup as the new GM of the DFHL's Boston Bruins.
Dave comes recommended by several of our GMs. We know he's coming in at a bit of a crazy time with the Valid Roster Deadline having just passed and the Waiver Draft tomorrow so hopefully those connections will help him get up to speed.
The Valid Roster Deadline has passed. All teams who were expected to be under the applicable limits have valid rosters.
Not all teams were expected to make the deadline, though, as Ian Ramsey has been removed from the league due to inactivity. We do have a new GM potentially lined up for Boston but its hard to ask someone to jump in and immediately meet a roster deadline and get prepped for a draft so we're trying not to rush that.
It's been awhile since there was any feedback so I've gone ahead and scheduled this season's drafts. It's a little weirder than usual to try to work around some stuff on my side of things.
Entry Draft: September 4, 7:00 PM
Valid Roster Deadline: September 6, 12:00 PM
Waiver Draft: September 7, 1:00 PM
Re-rates are complete. As per usual when we re-rate during the NHL's offseason, I've had to make some guesses with regards to free agents, trying to stick to precedents from when this timing has come up previously.
With award winners having been announced, we're officially flipping the league calendar over to Season 41.
Up next is running re-rates for the league. I have a ratings set ready to go but there were issues when this was run for the NSHL so I'm trying to figure out how to avoid some of those.
That's a wrap on the DFHL's 40th Season. Congrats to Dave Laity and the Kansas City Scouts on their second Memorial Trophy Championship.
Also congrats to Ian Ramsay and the Boston Bruins on their run to the Finals.
I've bumped the deadline for voting for the Season Forty DFHL Hall of Fame class to noon on July 3. As of right now, there are still a few people who need to vote and we're not in a rush, so it doesn't hurt to give some extra time.
I forgot to set this up earlier this season but S40 marks a quinquennium, which means it's time to vote for a new class for the DFHL Hall of Fame.
Voting is now open via the GM Tools. It will remain open until noon on June 29 and is a required action. Remember, we're voting based on each player's DFHL - not real-world - accomplishments.
Voting for the team rosters for the All-Star Game is now open via the GM Tools. Remember, All-Star voting is a required activity.
If the current schedule holds, voting will remain open until noon on Wednesday, May 28. I'm pretty sure the schedule won't hold so I'm not adding that to the league calendar just yet, but that's not saying anyone should count on extra time.
Just because there are no games today doesn't mean we don't have stuff going on. I'm happy to welcome Ryan Archer as the new GM of the DFHL Pittsburgh Pirates.
Ryan comes with recommendations from Aaron (Rockies) and Brian (Rangers) so he's got some people who can help him hit the ground running.
