Ryan has taken the opportunity to jump from Pittsburgh to Boston, which means that the Pirates are now available if any of our existing GMs would like to take them over. The Jets remain available as well. I'll give a few more days to see if anyone is interested in doing that and then I'll start looking for new GMs for our open teams.
I said this informally last night but congrats to Neil Burke and the New York Americans on claiming the Inauguration Cup for Season 42.
Per tradition, we'll be off on Saturday night and back on Sunday, though the sim schedule might be erratic for the next few days in general.
Last night's Entry Draft went off mostly smoothly and all eligible, rated players who were selected have been added to their respective team rosters.
I say "mostly" because it turns out there was a bug in the Draft Priority Group code which impacted things and has since been resolved.
Alright, I've gone ahead and formally set the dates for our offseason events.
The S42 Entry Draft will be at 7:00 PM on April 2. We'll have a bit of a gap for the Easter weekend and then come back for the Valid Roster Deadline at noon on April 7. That night will be the Waiver Draft, starting at 7:00 PM.
The re-rate process is complete. Keep in mind that we didn't apply new ratings, just new eligibility. The list of players who were rated but determined to be ineligible is posted in the forums.
With league awards announced, that's officially a wrap on Season 41 and we've flipped the league calendar over to Season 42.
I'm going to try to get player ratings taken care of in the next couple days. I do have a slight concern about that based on running that process for the NSHL earlier this week and the fact that there was a bug when I kicked off this new season but that's why I'm not promising a quick turnaround or anything.
Congratulations to Peter Hewgill and the Cleveland Barons, our Season Forty-one Memorial Trophy Champions! And congrats as well to Neil Burke and the New York Americans on a hard-fought run to the Finals.
I'm happy to announce that Amber Reu is the newest member of the DFHL, taking over the twice-vacated Winnipeg Jets.
As I mentioned the other day, Amber is a friend of Jenny's and mine, so we'll try to help her get up to speed. She also runs and ever-growing empire of book clubs that you should check out. And she's a Bruins fan but we try not to hold that against her.
I asked last week if there were any DFHL GMs interested in giving up their teams and jumping to the NSHL and our new Winnipeg GM, Colin, took me up on that offer. He's jumped over there to take over the newly-restored Chicago Stars as that league's offseason of relocation continues.
As we kick off the Season 41 playoffs, I'm happy to announce that Colin Brisco has taken over as our new Winnipeg Jets GM. Colin comes to us highly recommended as he's in another league with Aaron, Ryan, and Brian (Bick).
